                                         Toronto’s
Central Technical School (or C.T.S. for
short) is located in the center of the
                                        city’s metropolitan area and is
one of the most celebrated secondary schools
in Canada. Located at 725 Bathurst Street,
C.T.S. is on of the more specialized of
                                        the city’s schools, catering to
                                        specific subjects like mathematics, chemistry,
                                        mechanics, physics, and drafting. Known
for the quality of student it produces,
C.T.S. is also known as a popular place
to shoot a movie. At any time of the years
passers-by will see long lines of white
rental trucks pulled up at the Grand Frontal
Staircase, which is done in the Gothic
Style. One of the buildings most recognized
features; the Grand Staircase leads into
the schools main entrance and has been
used to simulate many a North American
                                        University Campus. C.T.S.
was built in about 1892, with classes
being given to around 150 children. The
city was growing though, and the on-site
                                        buildings and facilities became inadequate
very quickly. The school would eventually
grow to hold around 2500 students, with
                                        only the brightest applicants allowed
to become part of the student body. Many
of the students that graduate from this
school become major contributors to Canadian
industry, and the school works hard to
                                        keep its standards high.
